The Youth Employment Skateboarding (YES) Program is a product of the City of Seattle Partnering with Skateboarders. The City started began working with Skate Like a Girl in 2007 to gather input on the SeaSk8 skatepark re-design. This evolved into a program partnership in 2009. YES demonstrate that skateboarding is a sport that is inter-generational, promotes healthy active lifestyles, and is an important investment for people of all ages. With steady growth, we are excited head into our 4th year of YES this Summer! Youth Employment Skateboarding (YES) is a program administered by Skate Like a Girl. YES-2014 big This was made possible with the community support from residents in Fremont, Greenlake, and Wallingford, along with businesses and the skateboarding community.  YES is a leadership and employment training program for young skateboarders between the ages of 14 and 19. The program will take place between March – August 2014; training meetings and interviews March – June. Internship begins June 28th. Print and fill this form YES 2014 APP and mail it to PO BOX 95902 Seattle, WA 98145 YES participants will be ages 14 – 19 years-old.

  • Earn Retreat Trip at the end of August
  • Experience in a variety of areas (instructing, event organizing, civic engagement)
