Seattle Chapter program offerings

Skate Like a Girl Seattle is programatically the most evolved between the 3 chapters.  Programs are targeted to be inclusive and serve all ages, abilities, shapes + sizes and genders.  Programs range from ongoing programs like Ladies Nights and Girls in Space, to customized programs like GoGirlGo, the Youth Employment Skateboarding, community events, contests, tours, and summer camps.


Summer 2012 Skate Programs

Kirkland: Register w/ City of Kirkland Parks and Rec
This camp will be located at the Kirkland skatepark.  The camp is best suited for beginners and intermediates.
Camps are for kids ages 8 -12. Cost: residents $190, non residents $228

  • July 30 – Aug 3 9am – 1pm: Girls Only Camp #36127
  • Aug 6 – 10 9am – 1pm: Co-ed Camp #36128

The camp will take place at the Seattle Center skatepark, and is open to all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

  • Aug 20 – 24 Teens & Tweens (11-15) 11am – 3pm $190
  • Aug 27 – 31 Kids (5-10) 11am – 3pm $190

Skate tour. This camp meets at the Old Fire House Teen Center in Redmond, and travels to the different parks in the region.  This camp is best suited for intermediates, but beginners are welcomed to join.

  • GIRLS IN SPACE – a place for families to learn to skate - a co-ed family friendly program that focuses on community building and teaching girls to skate with the support of their friends and family.
  • GoGirlGo — 8 week curriculum 1 hour discussion on girls’ issues and 1 hour skateboarding
  • Ladies Night — weekly skate nights that bring girls and women together — there are no formal lessons
  • Youth Employment Skateboarding

Fall 2011 Skate Programs
