Bye-bye summer.
We will be going to our favorite indoor skateparks and continuing Ladies Nights and Girls in Space.
What’s Ladies Nights you ask? Basically getting the gals together to skate. Make friends get tips from other gals that are there. If you don’t have gear, let us know and we will bring some gear for you.
We have worked it out with local skateparks that want girls to come and skate!
Bellevue Skatepark: girls only session on Sundays from 5-8pm, the cost is $5 with a membership ($15 initial fee).
Skatebarn: has hosted the longest running girls skate free night on Wednesdays, so we should all go and capitalize on it.
Innerspace: 2nd Sundays of the month = Girls in Space, we rent out Innerspace
1 hour clinics (10am -11am) are $15 for one person, $25 for 2, or $40 for a family of 4.
Drop-in skate $5
Get the word out about the Ladies Nights and Girls in Space!
We also would love to get some new volunteers, so come skate and see what opportunities are available for you to help build Seattle’s girls skate scene!
Have ideas of where to go outside of Seattle to support girl skaters? We heard through the grapevine that there is a new indoor park in Gig Harbor, people are wanting us to go skate Eastern Washington, so maybe we will check these place out.

Yes! That’s right 10 years ago in the summer of 2000, Holly Sheehan and Fleur Larsen ran their first girls skateboard clinic at Ladyfest in Olympia, WA. That has snowballed from a small skate crew into a volunteer run non-profit with three chapters in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. Help us celebrate by coming to the party August 1st, 2010 at Bellevue Plaza. We will have a free BBQ for the first 100 folks – thanks to the best Field Roast Grain Company maker in the world + all natural sodas from Hansen’s!
What’s the schedule? It’s a surprise – keep you on your toes, but we will have some FUNTESTS (trade marked by Kristin Ebeling) $200 bucks to pass out thanks to the generous Chang family, sweet prizes thanks to Sno Con, Black Box Distribution (Fallen, Mystery, Slave, and Zero), Manik, Nomadic, DC, Mavrx and others! Fun activities including clinics! And what’s a party if there isn’t a piñata? BOOM! Fun for all ages. Guys come out and support – we will have a game of SKATE for you as well!
Rumor has it we will have ladies coming from all over the West Coast of North America: Oregon, California, Montana, and our favorite skateshop in Vancouver – Anti-Social and some ladies from Australia will be jamming with us!

Michelle Bush from Fort Bragg asked Skate Like A Girl SF, if we’d come help support the construction of their new skate park via clinics.
Fort Bragg was in need of some lovin’ and support. They needed to raise funds for their skate park.
Of course, being the skate park supporters we are.. we replied “YES!”.
We were able to make a whole tour out of it. A rental van became our means of transport from one city to the other, and the weather became our enemy. It was scorching and we literally put our sweat and tears into our skating.
The beginning of our tour started at Potrero Del Sol in San Francisco. We also hit up Ripon Skate Park where we met up with Lisa Whitaker and a few other girls. Girls who made the trek with us on the tour were as follows: Jolie Pitetta, Patty Fung, Yil Sag, Jin Hei, Staycee, Anna Nabba, Erica Harris, Kristina Narayan, and Ashley R.
