Seattle women running in NYC Marathon to raise money for the Women’s Sports Foundation

SEATTLE, WA. – Skate Like a Girl’s Board Chair, Nancy Chang and fitness entrepreneur Ananda Gellock are running for the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) in the ING New York Marathon on November 4, 2012. Both are training hard and looking to raise $5,000 each to continue the work of the WSF.

The WSF has supported Skate Like a Girl by providing grants and the GoGirlGo! curriculum, which encourages girls to make fitness a life long passion. Nationally the WSF provides women with the support they need to become top athletes, or even reach the Olympics like figure skaters Michelle Kwan and Kristi Yamaguchi, alpine skier Picabo Street. Most importantly WSF continues to advance the work of Title IX – and keep girls in sports.

This will be Nancy’s first marathon – and she will be celebrating her birthday as she tours by foot NYC. Ananda will be running in her 2nd marathon – but it will be her first NYC marathon.
