Looking for Seattle Skaters to volunteer!

Are you pumped on skateboarding, and want to give back? This is the perfect chance for you to become involved.  We currently are looking for a few good volunteers.  Check out the descriptions below, to sign-up click here!

We need ladies and gentlemen to help out for the weekend. We will sign off on students needing service hours.  Please make sure to let us know when you fill out the survey.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Explore Seattle’s deep connections with Japan and celebrate the beauty of spring at the Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival. From the booms of taiko drums to the silence of ikebana flowers, the event is a feast for the senses. Delicious Japanese food, tea ceremony demonstrations and artwork present both a modern and ancient view of this complex culture. Presented by the Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival Committee.  Skate Like a Girl will be at the festival to teach clinics and provide workshops on skateboarding.
Roles:

  • Skate 101: Teach a work shop in Skateboard Maintenance, Basic Skateboarding Tricks, and Skatepark Etiquette.
  • Tabling: Greet festival goers, and give them the run down on what is happening at the event, and also what’s up with the Seattle skate community.

Volunteer Shifts:

  • April 16, Friday
    • 11am – 1pm
  • April 17, Saturday
    • 9:30  – 1:30
    • 1:00 -  5:00
  • April 18, Sunday
    • 11:30 – 4:30

Giant Magnet

Giant Magnet is a celebration of world cultures through the performing arts. Its mission is to provide cultural experiences, education and exchange for the children and families of the Pacific Northwest region.
Skate Like a Girl will be helping to get more young people on skateboards.

Roles:

  • Skate 101: Teach a work shop in Skateboard Maintenance, Basic Skateboarding Tricks, and Skatepark Etiquette.
  • Tabling: Greet festival goers, and give them the run down on what is happening at the event, and also what’s up with the Seattle skate community.

Volunteer Shifts:

  • May 15, Saturday
    • 11 am  – 3pm
    • 2 pm – 6pm
